Hello, Cara!
Thanks for blasting over to planDisney with your question. I'm excited to hear about your upcoming visit and can totally appreciate your little Space Ranger's desire to encounter Buzz Lightyear, who, as you've probably heard, is a "member of the elite Universe Protection Unit of the Space Ranger Corps."
While he is currently on schedule for
meet-and-greets in Toy Story Land at Disney's Hollywood Studios, it doesn't appear that he has any upcoming missions at Magic Kingdom Park at this time. You used to be able to find him near the exit of
Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin in Tomorrowland, but that territory is now claimed by everyone's favorite mischievous alien, Stitch.
I'd love to share my best tips for earning Galactic Hero status on Space Ranger Spin, but unfortunately, the attraction is still in the middle of a
lengthy refurbishment. The entrance was surrounded by construction walls when I rode past on Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover a few weeks ago (blame it all on Emperor Zurg), but I'm excited to see all the enhancements when it reopens this Spring.
Please don't be a nervous Rex, Cara. As Buzz himself calmly states, "This is no time to panic!" I'm confident that your family will find plenty of magic to enjoy across Magic Kingdom during your visit. If you're interested in seeing which other Characters are available for meet-and-greets, you can check using your
My Disney Experience app. Head to the location icon (second from left at the bottom of the screen), filter by your location, then swipe through the menu items at the top of the screen to Characters. You'll see their locations appear on the map, or you can click "Show List" to view alphabetically. I always like visiting
Mickey in Town Square Theater, and I had a most whimsical encounter with Alice and the Mad Hatter in Fantasyland bright and early on my last visit. It was such a happy surprise, and I'll cross my fingers you'll have your own magical encounters, too!
I'd also like to mention that while I can fill a full day (and then some) at Magic Kingdom, you should be able to
upgrade your tickets to include the Park Hopper option if you're looking to make a quick midday mission over to Hollywood Studios. You can check out Buzz's schedule there in the My Disney Experience app to see if his timing works with your plans that day.
Please come back and see us again with more planning questions. We're always glad to help, "to infinity and beyond!"
You've got a friend in me,
Amy
