Hi Robyn!
I'm so glad to welcome you to planDisney and thrilled to hear about your upcoming day of adventure at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park. I have yet to experience
Wild Africa Trek myself, but it's high on my wish list for my family's summer visit!
This Enchanting Extra offers brave explorers (ages 8 and up) the opportunity to view animals from a unique perspective. Guided by an expert tour leader, you'll walk the path less traveled, cross a rope bridge over crocodile waters, say hello to different species from a private safari vehicle, and sample some delicious snacks to celebrate your 3-hour journey. As you've seen, this tour also includes complimentary photos of your adventures, which, in my opinion, is the very best souvenir.
A fellow panelist once indicated that these photos were a separate offering from Disney PhotoPass services and did not require the purchase of Memory Maker. I reached out to a Cast Member via chat to confirm that this was still the case, and you'll be glad to know that Summer confirmed you will not need to make an additional purchase to view and download photos from this experience. She indicated that you'll receive a code at the end of your trek and can download your photos according to the instructions.
If you plan to "say cheese" elsewhere in Animal Kingdom that day, you can certainly go ahead and purchase
Memory Maker One Day for your visit. You can do this before your arrival, or wait to see your photos first before purchasing. Just be sure to view, purchase and download before they expire 45 days from the date of capture. To do so, click into an image in your Photo Gallery in the
My Disney Experience app, then follow the prompts to purchase One Day. You'll notice a watermark across your photos until you complete/activate your purchase.
Did you know that you can locate Disney PhotoPass photographers around the park using your My Disney Experience App? Simply click the location icon (second from left along the bottom of the screen), select Animal Kingdom from the "Locations" drop-down filter, and then 'Apply." Swipe left along the top of the screen to move through filters for dining, attractions, and more, to "PhotoPass." You can view photographer locations on the map (zoom in and move around to see more detail) or click "Show List" in the bottom right corner to see an alphabetical list. I love posing with my travel partners in front of the
Tree of Life, and seeing which Magic Shots end up in our photo gallery. I've also had some fabulous pictures captured with Moana, as well as Dug and Russell from Disney Pixar's Up.
Robyn, I'm wishing you the very best day at Animal Kingdom this weekend. If you're in need of any further assistance, please come back and let us know. We're always working on our next Wilderness Explorer badge here at planDisney, and glad to help!
Adventure is out there!
