Hi Kevin,
Thanks so much for visiting us at the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I know I'm in the minority, but I love all aspects of planning...even budgeting!
First, how many people are in your party? Are theme park tickets and food included? Without knowing what you have already paid for, it's tough to say if that amount is enough. For example, if you have a family of four and that amount needs to also cover tickets and food, you might want to increase your budget a bit. However, if you have a family of four and you've already paid for your tickets and a dining plan, I'd say that your amount is more than plenty for a magical visit to the Walt Disney World Resort. Other than the cost of your
theme park tickets, the largest portion of your budget will likely be food. What I'd encourage you to do is to check out some of the
restaurants you're thinking about visiting on your vacation. You'll find menus for each one with prices to help give you a better idea of how much to estimate for food.
Now as for shopping and souvenirs, you'll find options to fit any budget. A lot of people, my family included, love collecting
pressed pennies from around the Resort, and each one of those only costs $0.51! At the same time, Disney has some
fantastic merchandise, and some of it, like a gorgeous Dooney & Bourke purse, requires more investment. I always tell Guests that the joy of a Disney vacation is in sharing the experience itself with loved ones, and once you're there, you can spend as much or as little as your budget allows and still have an amazing time.
Whatever you decide to spend, Kevin, I hope that your vacation is truly magical!
Missy
