Welcome back to planDisney, Natalie! We really appreciate our repeat visitors!
Disney's BoardWalk Inn makes you feel as if you've been transported to the turn of the century, a time when everyone went to the boardwalk for family vacations. The corresponding
BoardWalk entertainment district lies along a 0.25 miles long promenade, reminiscent of Coney Island- just an eensy bit cleaner! Since you'll be driving to Disney's BoardWalk Inn, you will need a dining reservation to enter the parking lot. I would plan on dining there, so you can go out and enjoy the BoardWalk.
My recommendation is to book a meal at
Trattoria al Forno, where they are known for old-world Italian classics just like Nonna used to make. Also,
Big River Grille and Brewing Works is usually easy to get into and is nice for a casual meal. However, I also love
Beaches & Cream Soda Shop at Disney's Beach Club Resort and the
Ale & Compass Restaurant at Disney's Yacht Club Resort. If you can secure a reservation at either, the parking lots at those resorts are within walking distance. The Cast Members at the guard gates will typically ask to see your dining reservation on your mobile device or scan your MagicBand upon arrival at the parking lot.
If you decide to
purchase parking at one of the theme parks and use Disney transportation to get to the BoardWalk, the parking pass is good all day, and it's fine to leave your car in the lot while visiting. The most accessible theme parks would be EPCOT, which is a short walk from the International Gateway or Disney's Hollywood Studios, from which you could take the
Disney Skyliner or a
Friendship Boat (by foot, it is a 15-minute walk).
Renting a
Surrey Bike, watching the street performers dazzle the crowd, and viewing the
Harmonius fireworks streaking through the sky sounds practically perfect in every way! I hope you enjoy your whimsical day at Disney's BoardWalk, Natalie!
