we would like to spend new years eve at Disney Downtown, & view the fireworks. Do we need to buy tickets for the evening?

    Hi Robert!

While there is no admission ticket required in order to visit Downtown Disney, it should be noted that there are no fireworks displays available during New Years Eve.  Fireworks shows are available at:
Epcot:  Illuminations: Reflections of Earth salute to New Years is performed at 7 pm and at 11:42 pm.
Magic Kingdom:  Fantasy in The Sky at 11:50 pm

At Downtown Disney, families can engage in DisneyQuest's New Years Eve event, where guests are able to access all the interactive games available, family fun, food and a DJ dance party.  Complete with noisemakers, party hats, and a confetti blast, its fun for all!  The cost for this event is $42.25 (advance purchase) per person.

Hope this helps you plan your magical vacation!

Hi there! The Disney Parks have been a part of my life since I was a little girl. Introducing my children, husband, and family to all the magic that Walt Disney World can offer has led to countless moments with Mickey and Friends, Disney Vacation Club membership and fun on the high seas with Disney Cruise Lines! Our vacations are usually centered around a visit to the Most Magical Place on Earth, and I am super excited to help you plan and create magical moments for you and your families!
