Should I spend the extra money to go to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas party, or will a "normal" park day at the Magic Kingdom suffice during the holidays?

I find it hard to answer questions about whether special event tickets are 'worth it', because I really believe the correct answer varies from family to family. Here are a few things I'd suggest you consider when deciding.

    • Can you easily afford it? If you have the money to buy the tickets, then do it! The party is wonderful and you will have a great time. Will it be a financial burden to purchase them? Consider foregoing the event, and spend the evening exploring resort decorations instead. No matter how much fun, no party is worth creating a strain on your budget to attend.
    • How late will you stay? MVMCP doesn't start until 7pm and runs until midnight. If your children will be exhausted and ready for bed at 9pm, then it definitely won't be worth it!
    • What do you want from the party? Are you looking for smaller crowds and reduced waiting lines for rides and attractions? You may very well not find that. In fact, on our recent trip to the Halloween Party, the park was far more crowded than normal! Are you looking for special party-only attractions? Then you won't be disappointed! There is a wonderful Christmas parade, fireworks show, and beautiful decorations everywhere - including snow falling on Main Street!
Hope that helps with your decision!
