Hey there, Shaula!
Welcome to planDisney and thanks for coming by with your question! Sounds like you're a person after my own heart. In another life, I think I would have been a videographer because I love a good video with stabilized footage and you just can't do that without a reliable gimbal. I'd love to give you some guidance on what is allowed through security.
First of all, I would recommend that you study the list of
Prohibited Items for the Disneyland Resort to make sure that you are in compliance. Since gimbals are not listed, they are allowed through security. I often bring my smartphone gimbal into the Parks with me and I see other guests using gimbals all the time. The only caution I might have would be for gimbals that feature an extending arm, because that might be considered under the extending selfie stick category. Ultimately, it will be at the discretion of the security cast member on what to allow. Most common gimbals, however, are allowed.
In addition to getting some great video footage, be sure to get some wonderful photos as well! I love utilizing the
Disney PhotoPass photographers whenever I can because sometimes that's the only way I get into the frame since I'm always the one behind the lens. And during the
Disney100 Celebration, all
attraction PhotoPass photos are complimentary to download, so be sure to take advantage of that.
Shaula, I hope that this was helpful for you as you plan your Holiday trip! Please write back to us again if you have any more questions because you'll always be welcome at planDisney! Until next time!
Wishing You a Great, Big, Beautiful Tomorrow!
