Is there any special thing for theMardi gras on WDW? tks.

    Hi, Carolina!

Pretty much every day is Mardi Gras at Walt Disney World's Port Orleans French Quarter and Riverside resorts.  While the theme parks themselves don't really have anything special going on to celebrate the day (which this year is on February 21st), you are welcome to celebrate it at this New Orleans themed resort.

On Mardi Gras in years past, the cast members at Port Orleans resort have built floats on golf carts and paraded around the resort, tossing candy, beads, and doubloons.  It's always been great fun, but you will need to find out from the front desk on Fat Tuesday what time the event takes place.

While you're at the resort, you can stop in the Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory, where you'll find authentic beignets that will make you think you're at Cafe du Monde right in the heart of New Orleans.  If you're there for lunch or dinner, you'll find a variety of po' boy sandwiches and delicious gumbo; and at dinnertime, you'll also be able to sample an awesome jambalaya.

On the Riverside side of the resort, Boatwright's Dining Hall offers dinner with a Cajun twist.  Dine on down home favorites such as jambalaya, crawfish, and gumbo.  You'll also be delighted by contemporary spins on Cajun cuisine, such as an andouille crusted catfish and Voodoo chicken.  Save room for dessert - bananas foster is the perfect end to Mardi Gras at Walt Disney World!

I hope your visit to Walt Disney World is magical in every way!
