Hi Camilla! Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney.
What an exciting plan for a day in the parks! Who wouldn't want to ring in the New Year in the Happiest Place on Earth? Lots of people, I imagine, which is why this is one of the most popular days of the year to visit. You won't need a special party ticket to celebrate, but you will need an
admission ticket and
theme park reservation since currently both are required for entry. On popular days it is possible for parks to fill up with no reservations available, so it's best to secure those reservations as soon as possible. I would also suggest to plan on arriving early, and since it is New Year's Eve, plan to stay late too. Rest up the day before and get ready to party!
What can you expect? All the festive fun of the
Holidays at the Disneyland Resort, including decor, entertainment, merchandise, treats, and my favorite attraction overlays. These festive overlays transform select attractions into pure holiday magic! A true can't-miss for me. But the highlight on New Year's Eve is the fireworks! You can experience fireworks in both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park, as well as live entertainment and dance parties leading up to midnight. You might also be given a noisemaker party favor to help ring in the New Year.
One thing to note is that if you'd like to enjoy an adult beverage for a toast at midnight or before, you'll probably want to be in Disney California Adventure Park, where wine, beer, and spirits are sold throughout the park. At Disneyland Park, currently, alcohol is only sold at select locations. If you'd like to
book a meal on this festive day, be sure you do so at the start of the 60-day reservation window when many Disneyland Resort dining locations begin making reservations. They're sure to fill up fast!
Have a magical day!
