Hi Sarah! Thanks for dropping by planDisney.
The
Toy Story Parking Area sometimes offers a security check in the mornings. This tends to be at peak times, however, and not entirely predictable. I can't guarantee that it will be available in February, which can have lighter attendance than other times of the year. It might be available some days and not others or not at all, depending on different variables.
You do have another choice. You can utilize rideshare and taxi services and be dropped off at
Downtown Disney District, which has its own security entrance. Whereas, if you're dropped off at Harbor Boulevard, you'll proceed through security at the Disneyland Esplanade. Either way, you'll be limiting the steps you have to take from your hotel, saving yourself for a day in the parks. That sounds like a win!
Wherever you choose to stay and however you get to the parks, I find security to be impressively efficient even when lines are longer. They're very good at their jobs! So, I wouldn't necessarily plan where to stay around whether the Toy Story Parking Area will have security.
One option when staying offsite is a
Good Neighbor Hotel Package. Packages offer increased value to Guests and combine your stay with your
admission tickets! Good Neighbor Hotels are Disney-approved and conveniently located. We stayed at a Good Neighbor Hotel across the street from Disneyland Hotel and found it to be comfortable and a super quick walk over to the Disneyland Esplanade and Downtown Disney District.
I hope you have a magical time!
Elizabeth
