Welcome aboard, Adam! It sounds like you must be planning a magical cruise with Disney sometime soon! Well, you are in luck, because not only does Disney Cruise Line offer some of the best dining experiences at sea, but they are also happy to work with guests who have
special dietary needs.
Be sure to call the agents at Disney Cruise Line, or your travel agent, when you book your cruise, or in the months leading up to sailing (the sooner, the better) to add a note to your reservation about your diabetic and low sodium diet. This information is given to your service team and they will be sure to discuss your needs in further detail with you that first night onboard. Disney Cruise Line recommends that those with special dietary needs plan to eat all of their meals in the full service restaurants onboard, as opposed to the buffet or quick service spots on the pool deck. This way, they can ensure your needs are being met to the fullest.
One of the great parts about sailing with Disney is the
Rotational Dining. You will rotate through all three of the main restaurants when you sail, and your servers will rotate with you. This is great for all guests, but especially those with special diets, because you won't have to re-explain your needs to a new server every night. My family loves getting to know our servers when we sail, and they really do become like part of the family by the time we leave. There have certainly been some teary goodbye's when my kids gave them one last hug before disemabrking! I know you'll find your service team to be excellent as well.
Have fun planning your cruise Adam!
