    Soon to be DVC member looking forward to Christmas '12. Home resort is AKV, but want BLT for Christmas: how likely is it that we'd be able to book that at 7 months out: Is it a long shot? I guess I just don't want to get my hopes up if there's no hope :-(

    Well here is an early Welcome Home! I hope you have a wonderful time as a member of the Disney Vacation Club! My family really enjoy our membership.

    While Christmas is a popular time of the year to visit the Walt Disney World Resort, you can find openings at the resorts at the seven month window.

    I recommend if you have your heart set on Disney at Christmas book your reservation at the Animal Kingdom Lodge at the 11 month window. This will allow you to have a room for your trip. You could also look at airline fares as well as they are cheaper the sooner you book them.

    Then set a reminder to call at the seven month window for Bay Lake. If they have nothing available at that time, you can go on a wait list. I have done this and have been moved to my preferred destination but there is no guarantee.
