Hello there Mary, and welcome to planDisney! Thanks for visiting us with your fun question today.
You're going to have such an incredible time adding a little outdoorsy fun to your magical Disney vacation. My family tried a
Disney Fishing Excursion, and it was one of the most unique and wonderful things we've ever done at Walt Disney World. Both of my kids absolutely loved it, and we made some awesome memories together that day. As you may know, this is a catch-and-release fishing experience. Every one of us caught multiple fish that day! Just being on the water with such beautiful views was a relaxing treat.
Which brings me to my recommendation! Our experience was a morning, 2-hour Guided Bass Fishing Excursion, on a Sun Tracker pontoon boat that accommodates up to five guests. This was perfect for my family of 4 plus our guide. There are Magic Kingdom area and EPCOT area excursions to choose from. We chose Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground (Magic Kingdom area) as our pickup location, and 10/10 would do so again! I just love the boat dock and beach near Pioneer Hall. So we enjoyed having this be our starting and ending point for the fishing excursion.
But it gets better! When you choose this area, you end up getting to fish all of those surrounding waters... with views of the Contemporary and Wilderness Lodge along the shoreline. Your guide will likely move a couple of times to try fishing in a few different locations. Later in the morning we moved over to Seven Seas Lagoon where we had views of the Grand Floridian and Polynesian Village Resorts. It was so gorgeous! We had an absolute blast, and it was practically perfect in every way.
Oh, boy! This is making me want to book another fishing excursion soon...
Your guide will provide life jackets and all of the fishing gear you need, but don’t forget to bring protection from the weather, like sunscreen, sunglasses, raingear or hats. Be sure to
call and make a reservation, up to 60 days in advance.
I hope this helps, Mary! If you have any additional questions, please don't hesitate to send me a
message at planDisney.
Fish on!
See ya' real soon,
Tami
