Ahoy, Carol! Thanks for sailing by planDisney with your question!
How exciting that you’ll be cruising with your son’s family! I love nothing more than setting sail with my own (now grown-up) boys. It’s such a wonderful way to make magical memories together. I’m happy to help since I recently sailed with a friend in a separate stateroom, so this is fresh in my mind!
When traveling under two separate reservation numbers, each stateroom will need to complete Online Check-In individually, even if one person is handling both. Your son can absolutely do both check-ins; he’ll just need to complete his reservation first and then log in again using your reservation number to complete yours.
To improve your chances of getting the same Port Arrival Time, I recommend completing the Online Check-In process as close to midnight EST as possible on your assigned check-in day. If your times end up being different, no worries...you can still board together, but you’ll need to wait until the later of the two boarding groups is called.
To make the check-in process smoother, be sure to have all the necessary documents ready to go. You’ll need a pictures or scans of
citizenship documents for each guest (like a passport OR original state-issued birth certificate AND a physical government-issued photo ID), a headshot-style photo with a plain background, contact information, travel details, emergency contacts, and your onboard payment method. I like to keep everything saved in a folder on my phone so I can upload it quickly when check-in opens.
Another important thing to keep in mind is if you’d like to be seated together in the main dining rooms, you’ll want to make sure your reservations are linked. You can link them yourself on the Disney Cruise Line website. Just go to the “My Reservations” page, click the drop-down arrow next to your reservation number, and select “Add a Reservation.” You’ll need both confirmation numbers and last names. If you prefer, you can also call Disney Cruise Line or your travel agent, and they can link them for you. It’s best to take care of this in advance so your dining arrangements are set before your table is assigned.
And don’t forget to download the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app before you sail! It’s a great tool for completing Online Check-In, booking activities, viewing your dining rotation, and staying in touch with your travel party while on board.
I hope your Online Check-In is smooth sailing, Carol! If you have any more questions as you get ready for your cruise, feel free to reach out again.
Happy sailing,
Eean
