My sons (19 and 16) and I are on the Disney Dream next week, our first cruise. We were a little disappointed to find out our room is on the 2nd deck (Family Deluxe Stateroom). Have you had a room this low on the ship? Should I ask to be moved if possible?

    Ahoy, Terese!

I always joke with our family that I would sleep in a broom closet on a Disney Cruise Line ship if it meant that I would be on a Disney Cruise! So, Deck 2, Deck 5, Deck 7...it does not matter at all to me!

While I typically book a room on a higher deck, I have heard great things about being on Deck 2 of the Disney Dream. Because of how you get to the rooms (through an almost secret hallway), it is a quiet area of the ship. Also, since you spend so little time in your room, it truly does not matter where your stateroom is! If you really think it will matter, you can always try to ask to be moved, but at this time of year, I would not be surprised if your sailing is full.

Your 16 year old son will probably LOVE the location, as the entrance to the teen club, Vibe, is just up two decks! I bet he will spend a LOT of time there. You and your older son can enjoy the Quiet Cove pool together while the youngest is hanging with his friends. There is also a "Club 18-20" that your older son should definitely check out. They often attend the evening shows in the Adult District together.

I'm so glad you found the Disney Parks Moms Panel to ask your questions. I hope this puts your mind at ease a bit, and that you have an amazing vacation on the Disney Dream.

    Happy Cruising, Tracy V.
