Hi Jade! I just got a
Magic Key for my daughter when she turned three a few months ago, so you can count on me to help you with this!
The short answer is yes, children can have a different pass level than their parent or guardian. However, your options for
purchasing a Magic Key for your little one depend on whether or not the passes are on sale to the general public. If the pass you want for your son is available (including the Inspire Key), you can easily purchase it
on the Disneyland website.
If sales for Magic Key passes are on hold when your son turns three, Hakuna Matata, there's still an option for you! As a Magic Key holder, you can purchase a pass for him within 60 days of his birthday at a ticket booth (just bring an original copy of his birth certificate or passport for verification). In this case, you’ll likely be limited to purchasing the same pass level as yours, so you may not be able to get an Inspire Key unless you already have one. However, this decision is made at the Cast Member's discretion.
I have the Inspire Key (and love the free parking benefit), and my husband and kids have Enchant Keys. I appreciate that the Magic Key allows us to visit frequently for shorter periods. Remember that there are also special extras and experiences just for Magic Key holders, which you can check out in the Magic Key portal on the app or
the website.
It's a great year to have a Magic Key, too, since many exciting things are on the horizon at the Disneyland Resort. I'm most looking forward to the
70th Anniversary Celebration, which begins in May. There will be special entertainment, colorful decorations, food and drinks, collectible merchandise, and more. You can visit the
Disney Parks Blog to check out other exciting things coming this year.
Jade, I hope this information has been helpful to you as you make plans to get your son a Magic Key of his own. If you have any other questions, please let us know. We're happy to help!
Wishing you magic,
Kriss
