Hi, my son will turn 1 year old on the month of October ans I’m planning to take him in Disneyland. Is there any activities for him to make his first birthday memorable? Thank you

    Welcome to planDisney, Chynna!

As a mom to two little princes of my own, your question brought a big smile to my face! Thanks to my Magic Key pass, I've been taking my boys to The Happiest Place On Earth since they were just a few months old. I'm thrilled to help you get ready for your little prince's first birthday bash!

First things first, make sure to pick up a Celebration Button at any of the retail stores you find at the resort.  It's a fun way to let everyone know you're celebrating something special!

I also recommend booking a dining reservation at the Minnie & Friends – Breakfast in the Park at the Plaza Inn. We had a blast there last winter! There's plenty of space for little ones to roam around, and the characters are always ready with big hugs. It’s a great way to kick off the day with some character-filled fun and a delicious breakfast.

There are so many rides with no height restrictions that are perfect for little ones. My little Mouseketeer absolutely loves the King Arthur Carrousel at Disneyland Park. We also enjoy "it's a small world," Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Peter Pan.

And over at Disney California Adventure Park, The Little Mermaid - Ariel’s Undersea Adventure is a winner with our little merman. At this park, his favorite rides are Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue!, Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind, and Mater's Junkyard Jamboree, just to name a few.

Here's a handy list of all the rides and attractions with no height requirement at the resort.

And Chynna, if your youngling loves parades, you definitely don't want to miss the "Magic Happens" Parade. My little guy is absolutely captivated by it! The characters, floats, and music are so vibrant and lively. You can check out the showtimes in the Disneyland Mobile App. By the way, if you haven't downloaded this app yet, I highly recommend doing so, Chynna. If you haven’t downloaded it yet, I highly recommend it. Getting familiar with the app will make your visit even more magical.

Overall, you and your little one will have plenty of ways to make his first birthday extra special. I hope I've helped you with your dream visit to The Happiest Place On Earth, Chynna! Just like Ursula from "The Little Mermaid" says, "That's what I do! It's what I live for!", so if you have any more questions before your visit, just swim on back to ask me again!

A Very Merry Unbirthday to You!
