My son will be traveling with his high school choir next year. They will receive paper tickets when they step off the bus at the gate. Are we able to link that ticket to his magic band so he can use that to buy his meals and souvenirs?

    Hi Laura!

I know your son is going to have a magical time visiting the Walt Disney World Resort with all of his friends, but I completely understand wanting to be able to plan how he will be able to pay for that extra pixie dust!

Luckily, he will be able to link his ticket to his MagicBand either through his My Disney Experience account online or on the My Disney Experience mobile app.  He will just need to use the number on the back of the ticket and follow the instructions!  That being said, linking his ticket will not allow him to automatically be able to make purchases with his MagicBand.  When you use a MagicBand to make purchases, those purchases are charged back to the room.  This means that only Guests staying at Walt Disney World Resort Hotels will be able to make purchases using MagicBands.  Because of this, depending on how the trip was organized and planned, using his MagicBand to make purchases may not be an option for him.

If you are looking for another great alternative to cash or a credit card that will allow him to be able to make those purchases, make sure you check out Disney Gift Cards.  Disney Gift Cards can be used at basically any merchandise or dining location throughout the Walt Disney World Resort that accepts credit cards!  They are also a fantastic way to budget!

Have a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow!
