My son who is 16 is thinking about running the Princess Half with me and his sister. Will he be eligible to receive the finisher medals? I thought I read some where that they aren't able to win any awards.

    Hi Pam!

Thank you for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I love that you are going to make the Disney Princess Half Marathon a family affair and include your very own Prince and Princess to run by your side!

Your son is certainly eligible to run with y'all and will receive a medal for his accomplishments! What you may have seen has to do with historical corral placements. In past years they have organized corrals so that the first corral is always women only and men will automatically be placed in the second corral regardless of proof of time.

There are also specific awards given if your son is a competitive runner. There will be awards on site for the top 3 male and female for overall finishers, wheelchair finishers and Masters Champion. Later based on net time, the top 5 runners in a variety of age categories will also be recognized. For more information you can look under the Runner Info tab and scroll down to Awards

Please let me know if you have any other questions before y'alls magical runcation!
