Welcome aboard, Alison! It's exciting to hear that you're planning a mother-son cruise with Disney Cruise Line, Alison! My son and I enjoyed a memorable mother-son cruise ourselves earlier this year, and it is something we'll both always remember. Disney made is so special for us!
The
Miami Hop-On Hop-Off City Tour with Airport Transfer is a great way to make the most of those extra hours between disembarking the cruise ship and flying out at the airport. You can read all the specifics of this adventure on Disney Cruise Line's Port Adventures page.
I suggest booking this before you set sail. In fact, as a first time guest with Disney Cruise Line, you can begin booking Port Adventures 75 days prior to sailing when you
log into your reservation to begin online check in. It is there that you will be able to choose your adventures under My Cruise Activities. Some of these adventures do fill up, so be sure to book this one, and any others, as soon as possible after that 75 day mark (or 90 days prior for guests who have sailed with Disney before).
I think you'll really enjoy your tour around Miami with the option to hop off the bus to spend more time in a particular area. The bus returns every 15 to 30 minutes, so you are free to make the most of your day at any or all of the stops before heading to the airport. Your luggage is stored for you, so it doesn't get much easier, Alison!
Have fun as you continue to plan and please let me know how else I can help!
