My son really wants to see Lightning McQueen and Mater. Are there any attractions featuring them or places where he could see them? Also, we plan on arriving 5/19 and staying for a week. I read something about Star Wars weekends and advice on that?

    Bob,

There is a place just for you!

When you go to visit Hollywood Studios you will find that there is a meet-and-greet area that has both Mater and Lighting McQueen! It is located in the back of the park, in Luigi's Garage. That is by the exit of the Muppet Vision 3D show.

Also, Lightning McQueen has been added as a marquee star in the Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show, which is the rear of the Streets of America area.

Finally, with regards to the Star Wars Weekends. They are a fun way to experience the park. But you are going to be there the very first weekend. It will PACK the park, and make it harder than usual to navigate it. So if you are staying long enough to experience the SECOND weekend of the event, (at the end of your trip) that will be lighter. And in either case, try to visit on a Sunday, not a Friday or Saturday, as that day should be the lightest of the three.

Let me know if you have any follow-up questions!

    Have a magical vacation!
