My son has a peanut allergy. We are staying in cabins at the Fort Wilderness Campgrounds - does anyone know whether the grocery store there carries peanut free products (ie: bread, cookies, etc). Does the restaurant in Ft Wilderness have peanut free menu?

    Hi Janet,

The general store at the Fort Wilderness Campgrounds carries many of the same products you would find at home in a regular grocery store.  Most items are name brands, and the items at this store would be the same as any of the stores located in the Walt Disney Resorts.  I would call the resort and ask to be connected to the store if you have specific questions.

As for meals at Fort Wilderness or anywhere else in the Walt Disney World Resorts, simply mention your son has a peanut allergy.  This can be done when making Advance Dining Reservations as well as mentioning it when you meet your server.  The chef will come to your table and ask your son what he would like and prepare it especially for him.  This even includes the buffets.

My daughter has a seafood allergy, and I have been extremely happy with the attention the chefs have given her to make sure her meals are prepared correctly.  Though it is probably more attention than she would like.

    Enjoy!
