My son will be 15 months old when we travel to disney world. He is allergic to milk. I have made a request at the character meals we have reservations for. How do I handle this at other locations where we do not have reservations?

    Hi Robin,

Milk allergies are quite common and Disney is well prepared to handle them.

The majority of counter service venues have binder behind the counter which includes nutrition information and ingredients of everything they serve. You can ask to see the binder and double check whether any item includes milk. If you go to the independent website blog.touringplans.com and search for an article called, "What to Expect from 2012's Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party," you can see a sample nutrition binder page in the photos. If you have any questions at all, ask to speak with a supervisor. Because you'll be doing some reading/research before ordering, you may want to build in a little extra time into your counter service dining.

At table service restaurants, tell the host seating you and your server that you have a guest with allergies in your party. They will automatically send a chef out to your table after you're seated. The chef can tell you exactly what's in each dish on the menu. If you're at a buffet, they will even walk down the line with you, pointing out which items should be avoided.

Rest assured that Disney has helped many guests in situations like yours. They'll be happy to answer any questions you have about food ingredients and preparation.

    Have a great trip!
