Hello! My son loves birds and I was wondering if there are any parrots, macaws etc at Animal Kingdom Resort or do you only see the larger animals? Thank you!

    Hi Shelly,

I've stayed at the Animal Kindgom Lodge several times. I don't recall having seen parrots at the resort; however, I did once have a wonderful view of an ostrich from my savanna-view balcony.

You should definitely take your son to the Animal Kingdom theme park. There are parrots and macaws there on the path to the Tree of Life. There are also dozens of other avian species that make there home at the park. The Flights of Wonder show demonstrates bird behaviors. Grab a copy of the free Times Guide when you enter the park for exact show times each day.

There are also bird viewing areas on the Pangani Forest Trail and on the Maharaja Jungle Trek. Some of the species represented there are fruit doves, golden pheasants, parakeets, kingfishers, plovers, mynah, partridges, peacocks, broadbills, pittas, and more.

And don't forget to check out the flamingos on the Kilimanjaro Safari.

I hope you and your budding ornithologist have a wonderful time!
