My son is lactose intolerant. I know we can get him lactose free milk in the dining rooms but can we get if for him at the buffets for breakfast/lunch? Also, I have a very picky eater. If he wants grilled cheese at dinner, will he be able to order it?

Welcome aboard, Larry! You must have a magical cruise coming up with Captain Mickey and his crew! How exciting! I can tell you from lots of experience on all four of Disney's ships that you'll be in for one very special and memorable vacation from the moment you walk onto the ship until the moment you say, not goodbye, but "See ya' real soon."

Disney Cruise Line is excellent in offering alternatives to those with food allergies. Lactose-free milk is available in all three of the main dining restaurants for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, however you will not find it at Cabana's buffet. Disney suggests that guest with food allergies try to eat all of their meals in the main restaurants, as they are well equipped to handle food substitutions and allergies. My family doesn't have any allergies, however, we still prefer to eat most, if not all, of our meals in the main restaurants, as they are very relaxing, the servers are fabulous and lots of fun, and it just makes our cruise more special. I'm sure you'll find the same.

Picky eaters, no problem! Kids can order off of not only the special kids' menu each night, but even off of the regular adult menu, if they prefer. And if nothing seems exactly right, your servers are happy to work with you and your son to offer other alternatives. I'm sure that grilled cheese would be something they'd be happy to whip up for him. But, in saying that, I do hope you'll encourage him to try some of the different options available. Unlike back home at a restaurant, onboard your Disney cruise ship, there is no charge to order another item if the first one isn't an immediate favorite.

I hope that helps as you continue to plan, Larry! Enjoy your cruise!
