My son will be 17 and a half years old when/if we take a cruise. Will he be able to gain access to quiet cove and the adult areas?

    Ahoy, Angela!

The great thing about a Disney Cruise vacation is that it offers something for Guests of all ages. Your teen is not quite old enough to experience the adult-only spaces onboard, but will still have an opportunity to enjoy Vibe, the teen-only club. I strongly encourage him to check out the space even if he's not quite sure he'll like it. The best time to go is the first night as the counselors encourage teens to mingle and get to know each other. The area and counselors are very laid back, and your son can pick or choose which activities and events he wants to participate in.

As you plan for your voyage, have your son check out the pictures and descriptions of Vibe for each of the four ships on the Disney Cruise Line website. The Disney Magic and Disney Wonder offer a space that has a loft-like vibe with plenty of places to hang out and relax with friends. On the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy, you'll find the space to have a trendy night club feel with a sundeck equipped with its own splash pools and deck games. All four spaces have their own coffee bar with specialty beverages including smoothies to drink (for a nominal fee).

Angela, I hope your son will check out Vibe! My daughter has enjoyed it on our last two sailings even participating in the teen-only excursion (The Wild Side Teen Adventure) offered on Disney Castaway Cay! Please let us know if you need further help with your magical plans.
