Hi there, Trent! I'm so glad you are planning a visit to
The Most Magical Place on Earth! Thank you for bringing your question to planDisney. I'm happy to help!
Your son can most definitely use his electric wheelchair at Walt Disney World Resort. There is no need to get a manual wheelchair for him. It is generally a very accessible place. Nearly all queues accommodate wheelchairs, and many attractions will allow him to
stay in his electric wheelchair to ride. Some will require him to
transfer to a manual wheelchair, which will be provided for you at the loading area. And still, some attractions will need him to
transfer to a ride vehicle in order to experience it. Each attraction is different.
Here are some resources that may be helpful for your family:
- This page has a list of the attractions and experiences at all four theme parks, both water parks, and Disney Springs. You can use the filters to narrow it down by park and type of experience, and you'll be able to see how your son will experience it.
- Fellow panelist, Kami, is a mom, wheelchair user, and excellent source of information. Feel free to peruse some of her answers or even submit a question directly to her.
When you visit
Magic Kingdom Park, I hope you'll take a break in the afternoon to see the
Festival of Fantasy Parade. It's one of my favorite things in all of Walt Disney World! It's the best way to get to see so many favorite characters up close. And if you wave to them, they just might wave back!
Trent, I'm excited for you to make magical memories with your son! Please
let us know if you have any more questions. We're always happy to help!
Always Dreaming -
Elizabeth
