my son and i dont have passporst do we need them if we are going on the disney dream for a four night cruise or can i bring my id a birthcertificate and my sons birth certificate

Welcome aboard, Sarafina! Are you excited to set sail with Disney Cruise Line for your cruise aboard the Disney Dream? You have so much in store for you, from great family activities, youth clubs, adult exclusive spots, amazing dining and of course Disney's high level of customer service! You're sure to have one very magical cruise!

Take a look at the documents required for sailing. You'll see that for the Bahamian and Caribbean cruises, adults may use a government issued ID, such as a driver's license, and children may use their birth certificate as acceptable forms of identification to board the ship. That being said, if you have enough time, you might want to consider getting passports for your family. My family brings our passports on each sailing, as we like to play it safe. You just never know when an unexpected event or health issue could leave you stuck in one of the ports after the ship departs. Guests would then need their passports to be able to fly back home.

It's up to you, Sarafina, and many guests do simply use their driver's license and children's birth certificates. Before you decide for sure, take a look at the benefits to cruising with a passport.

I hope that helps as you continue to plan your cruise, Sarafina! Please feel free to stop back with any further questions before you set sail!
