I would like to take my son dockside fishing, but our resort does not offer this service. Could I take him fishing at Fort Wilderness eventhough we staying at another resort? If yes, can we rent fishing poles and is it affordable?

Dockside fishing is available at Port Orleans Riverside (from 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.) and Fort Wilderness (from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.) for any guest of WDW. You do not need to be staying at those particular resorts to take advantage of this recreational opportunity.

Fishing poles are available for rent. In my opinion, quite inexpensively. There are a variety of rental plans available. Prices can change, but for a reference point, here are some approximate current sample prices:

    Port Orleans
Family Plan: Up to 6 guests for 30 minutes (includes poles, bait, and dock time): $14.00
Individual : 30 minutes (includes pole, bait, and dock time): $4.00

    Fort Wilderness
    All day pole rental: $9.00
    30 minute pole rental: $4.00
A container of live bait (not included with pole rental): $4.00

You can make reservations in advance at 407-WDW-BASS.

    Have fun fishing!
