My son (17) and I will be going to Disneyland for two days, May 22-23. What should we do? Is the WOC dinner package at Carthay Circle a good option with an older teen? What rides are the same as WDW? We want to do/ see new things.

    Hello Khallai,

Thank you for writing us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I'm so excited for your upcoming trip The Happiest Place on Earth. You are going to make magical memories that will last a lifetime.

You are going to Walt's original theme park so the history and magic, in and of itself, is something to take in. I recommend stopping by City Hall on Main Street U.S.A. to ask about special tours like "Walk in Walt's Disneyland Footsteps" Guided Tour.

Newly refurbished attractions and magic you won't want to miss are Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage, Sleeping Beauty Castle Walkthrough, all of Disney California Adventure (specifically: The Little Mermaid - Ariel's Undersea Adventure, Radiator Springs Racers, all of Carsland, Goofy's Sky School, and California Screamin'), to name a few.

There are attractions that are similar but I wouldn't say most are exactly the same. Attractions like The Pirates of the Caribbean, Jungle Cruise, Peter Pan's Flight, The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, Splash Mountain, and Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters are slightly different and worth seeing the uniqueness in my opinion.

I think you and your son will love the World of Color Dining Package at Carthay Circle. It's a great option to experience a one-of-a-kind restaurant and then have VIP seating for a spectacular, must-see show.

I hope you have a magical time at the Disneyland Resort. Please write us back if you have any more questions.

    Wishing you magic.
