My son, 4, daughter, 16, and I are going to WDW 7/30-8/6. 8/5 is my daughters 17th birthday. I want her to have a good bday, and want to know which character meal you recommend for a bday? Also, this is my sons first trip, ideas for cant miss attractions?

As much as I think I know about Walt Disney World, I had to consult my expert panel on this one for you - my own 17 year old daughter!  No one knows the mind of a teenage girl like another teenage girl!

Her two favorite character meals anywhere at Walt Disney World are at the Crystal Palace in the Magic Kingdom and the Garden Grill in the Land pavilion at EPCOT.  Crystal Palace is a buffet meal that features Pooh and friends, and Eeyore is my daughter's favorite character.  The Garden Grill is a family style meal with Farmer Mickey, Chip and Dale, and others (characters do occasionally change at the character meals).  The meal at Garden Grill features fresh  vegetables, grilled flank steak, roast turkey, Southern Fried catfish, mashed potatoes and dessert.  You will also get chicken strips and macaroni and cheese for your little guy.

My daughter said she likes Chef Mickey's, but the singing and napkin waving is more for little kids.  And if she had to choose one restaurant to go to on her birthday, it would be 'Ohana for dinner.  There aren't any characters there, but if you time it right, you might get to enjoy the Wishes fireworks from the Magic Kingdom, and they have some activities that might be fun for your four year old.

For your son, the can't miss attractions include Buzz Lightyear at the Magic Kingdom and Toy Story Midway Mania at Disney's Hollywood Studios.  Come to think of it, they will probably be can't miss for your daughter too!
