My son and I both want to build a droid. Can just the two of us go or does he have to have a non builder guest with him (he is under 14)? If non builder is needed, do I need to make a reservation for them as well as the builder or just the builders? TY!

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Andrea!

My family and I were able to visit the Droid Depot in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios last night, and it was so fun! The “nonbuilder” language on the website refers to the maximum number of Guests who may accompany a paying Guest to the Droid Depot, and it is definitely not a requirement to have a nonbuilder with you. (Guests under the age of 7 must have someone 14 or older accompany them, though.) As separately-paying Guests, you and your son will be able to build your droids side by side!

When you arrive at the Droid Depot, you’ll check in with the Cast Member at the front of the Depot, and they will direct you to the line at the far left where you’ll verify your reservation and make your payment. Then you’ll be escorted to a spot at the conveyor belt where you’ll choose each of the elements for your Droid. You’ll also have the option to purchase additional accessories for your new Astromech unit including various Astromech Personality Chips, Accessory Panels (in a variety of colors), and even a Serving Tray (available for the R-Series Droids)! They also have adorable Astromech backpacks that will allow you to carry around your new friend.

I hope you and your son have an awesome time at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, Andrea! Please let us know if there are any additional questions we can answer for you.
