Hi there, Holly!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I'm glad you stopped by with your question!
First and foremost, bless your son’s heart, or rather, his arm! I do hope he’s resting and recovering while preparing to come to The Most Magical Place on Earth!
Walt Disney World Resort is truly a place for everyone, whether you love attractions, delectable delights, or watching the Florida night sky light up with a stunning display of fireworks!
At Walt Disney World Resort, the safety of Guests is a top priority. I would encourage you to consult with your son’s physician to be sure it would be alright before he gets on rides. I would also suggest your son avoids rides that would prevent him from holding on to the safety rails or ones that would get his cast wet. I know when I’m riding attractions such as Space Mountain, The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, or Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, I tend to hold on tightly and apply pressure to my arms. And although Splash Mountain is a load of fun, it is highly likely to get his cast wet.
However, I do have great news! There are many attractions that your son can enjoy that shouldn’t interfere with his healing. Of course, any rides would be at the discretion of your son’s physician, but I would suggest rides without height requirements, because they tend to be geared towards everyone being able to enjoy them, such as:
Magic Kingdom Park:Haunted Mansion
Mickey’s PhilharMagic
Peter Pan’s Flight
Epcot:
Frozen Ever After
Spaceship Earth
Living with the Land
Disney’s Hollywood Studios:
Toy Story Mania!
Muppet*Vision 3D
Toy Story Mania!
Disney's Animal Kingdom Park:
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park:
Kilimanjaro Safaris
Na’vi River Journey
There are many more! You can check out
Height Requirements here for more options. If ever a need be, there are
First Aid Stations located in each of the four Theme Parks. Nurses are available, along with over-the-counter medications. They will help you get back to enjoying your vacation as soon as possible!
Holly, I hope you and your son have the most magical vacation! See ya real soon, pal!
