My son is just beginning his varsity swim season when I’ve planned our trip. He’s not willing to miss his practices (so doesn’t want to accompany me!). Is there a 25 yard/meter pool that is available to guests staying on Disney property??

    Dear Heather,

Thank you so much for stopping by to visit us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your great question about planning ahead for your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort vacation!

Congratulations to your son for making the varsity swim team, how exciting! I understand his interest in maintaining his training schedule. There are so many gorgeous pools around Walt Disney World Resort property, but most of them have irregular shapes and depths that might not be ideal for a serious lap swimmer such as your son. It can also be challenging if there are a large number of other guests in the pool as well.

At the Walt Disney World Swan & Dolphin Resorts, there are designated lap pools but please keep in mind that these are not operated by Disney even though they are on Disney property. This means that some amenities may vary. You can give a call to the front desk concierge to confirm the hours and availability.

You might be better off bringing him to a local external facility, of which there are a couple in Orlando, that has a larger lap pool available for guest use for a fee.

Hope that helps with your magical planning!
