Hey there, Colleen thanks for stopping by with this important question. I will be happy to help you find a way for your son to enjoy his favorite Disney Characters.
Disney's Hollywood Studios will always be a special place for my family. I have special memories from my childhood here as well as a parent. I got the great news of being selected to share my experiences with guests like you for the planDisney panel. I have treasured memories with my father acting like a child and those can never be replaced. I hope your visit produces these same magical moments with your son and the rest of your party.
Fantasmic! is a wonderful show and very engaging, but might I recommend getting there early so you can get the exact spot this Disney Dad thinks would be best for your son to stick around for the entire show. When you are walking in you will see the main area in front of the performance area and will probably be directed to that area. I have a 12 year old son who likes to move around, and there is a set of seats all the way towards the back away from the main seating area. If you are able to grab a front row seat in this area you can watch the show and not miss a moment or feel bad for interfere with other guests experience. This area allows your son to be a little more free, and you can even walk around with him in the bathroom area but still be close enough to return to the action when his favorite characters burst onto the scene. The Disney Villains make their first appearance about halfway through the 30 minute show. You will hear the song "Tale as Old as Time" and know that you should head back to your seats. If you are interested in checking the show out for yourself there a number of online videos. I usually recommend these options to get a point of view for your son, and know that he will be ok. You can also check out attractions so you can be sure he will enjoy each attraction you select.
Hollywood Studios has so many fantastic areas to enjoy and there are some new experiences headed to the parks that your son will certainly enjoy. This summer there will be a new show opening called
Disney's Villains: UnFairly Ever After. The Villains have said for years that they have been treated unfairly and they are finally getting some attention. This show has the Magic Mirror give all the villains a chance to say why they are misunderstood. Boy oh boy I can't wait to hear these excuses, I mean explanations why they have decided to be evil-doers. Keep an eye on the
Disney Parks Blog for announcements on specific dates for opening. Hopefully your current trip aligns with the shows opening dates which have not been announced yet.
I hope this information is helpful for finding the best option for this show. If you have any other planning questions head on back to planDisney and we will be happy to help.
See ya real soon,
Jeremy A.
