Hi Kimberly, thank you for bringing your question to planDisney!
It sounds like you’re familiar with Disability Access Service (DAS) already, but I want to remind you of a few registration details. Disability Access Service is valid for the length of the ticket, or up to 240 days, whichever is shorter. If you need to re-register your son for DAS, you can register online up to 60 days in advance of your park visit.
The
Disability Access Service is only valid for the registered guest and up to 3 members of their travel party, for a total of 4 guests. If you’d like your entire party to have access to Lightning Lane entrances, you could purchase
Lightning Lane Passes for the remaining guests.
If you’re staying at a Disney Resort, Lightning Lane Passes can be purchased 7 days before your arrival. Guests not staying at a Disney Resort can buy Lightning Lanes 3 days before their visit. On the day of your park visit, your son could try to match his DAS return times to the Lightning Lane Multi Pass or Single Pass windows. DAS return times are comparable to the current wait time at an attraction and are valid until the attraction closes for the day. So, if DAS return time doesn’t align with the Lightning Lane times, he can wait to return with the whole group once the Lightning Lane window opens. You can only hold one DAS return time at a time, and after redeeming a return time, you must wait 10 minutes to make your next selection.
I hope this was helpful, Kimberly. I hope your family has a magical time together at Walt Disney World. If you have any other questions, please come back to see us at
