Hi Heather!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! We're so glad you stopped by with your question today.
I can tell you from personal experience that Walt Disney World is one of the very best places to vacation if you, or someone in your family, has a food allergy or special dietary need. You're so smart to be doing some research now, which will make your dining experiences during your trip even better. If you haven't already read through the
Special Dietary Requests page of the website, it has lots of helpful information for you. The good news is that soy is considered one of the "common food allergies," which means that many restaurants can accommodate your son's needs without you making any advance arrangements. Just check with your server, a manager or other Cast Member when you arrive to discuss your needs.
Since I'm not familiar with the specifics of soy allergies, I cannot say for sure whether a Dole Whip would be safe for your son, but I can list the ingredients for you (taken from the www.dolesoftserve.com website):
Sugar, Dextrose, Stabilizers (Cellulose Gum, Xanthan Gum, Locust Bean Gum, Guar Gum, Karaya Gum, Pectin), Coconut Oil, Contains 2% Or Less Of Each Of The Following: Maltodextrin, Citric Acid, Natural & Artificial Flavor (contains Pineapple Juice Powder), Modified Food Starch, Malic Acid, Beta Carotene (Color), Mono & Diglycerides, Silicon Dioxide (Anticaking). I hope that helps with your planning, Heather, and wishing you a magical vacation! Please stop by again if we can help answer any other questions.
