Is there somewhere in Magic Kingdom for a 4 year old to build his own lightsaber?

Hi, Rachel, and welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

My daughter actually built her own lightsaber at Mickey’s Star Traders in Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom Park when she turned six. I’m sorry I didn’t have a chance to pop in that shop when we were at Walt Disney World Resort last week to see if they’re still there, but I think that’s the only place in Magic Kingdom where such an option exists. Since merchandise stock rotates frequently, though, please know that the experience might not be available when you arrive in September.

Your arrival date is an exciting one, though, as that will be the opening weekend for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios! With this jaw-dropping expansion to the Walt Disney World Resort universe, I’m sure we’ll see lots of new Star Wars merchandise and experiences become available. My best suggestion would be to stay tuned to the Disney Parks Blog to see what may be in store for your little Jedi when you arrive later this year.

Also feel free to check out other Star Wars related experiences such as Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple, special Character meet and greet opportunities at Star Wars Launch Bay, and the truly amazing Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular nighttime show, too.

In the meantime, let us know if there’s anything else we can do to help you plan your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort vacation.

May the Force Be With You,
    Amy
