Is there something I'm missing in late February? Crowd predictors are low, but more then half the resorts are showing no rooms available? What am I doing wrong?

Hiya, Stacey! February is the sweet spot of Walt Disney World vacations since it falls smack dab in the middle of the holidays and the spring break crowds. And then there's the weather... the pleasantly sunny warm days and cool nights are a welcome respite for many vacationers needing a break from winter weather (like myself)!

While the first half of the month is relatively calm, the second half gets a little busier starting around President's Day weekend. Shortly thereafter, more than 25,000 princesses arrive, trading their glass slippers for running shoes during the Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend. 2020's event takes place from February 20-23, so this probably explains why you see less availability of the Walt Disney World Resort hotels. While runDisney weekends result in more guests than usual at the resorts, they don't typically impact crowd levels or attraction wait times significantly. One thing you will notice, however, are guests sporting shiny finisher medals in the Parks! Crowd levels may increase slightly after the race weekend due to the New Orleanians arriving for their Mardi Gras school break.

I wish you luck booking your Walt Disney World Resort hotel room, Stacey. While you're at the "House of the Mouse," make sure to check out the Epcot International Festival of the Arts, which is one of my favorite events of the yEAR!
