Welcome back to planDisney, Elaine Grace! It looks like you have quickly been adding to your
Castaway Club status, and I couldn’t be more thrilled to help you with this journey.
I wanted to ensure I provided the most accurate information, so I consulted with a
Disney Cruise Line representative on this question. Per sailing, each household may reserve up to two staterooms for one future sail date. That being said, Guests in the second stateroom do not have to be onboard at the same time of booking. However, one original Guest must sail.
Now if you’re sailing with an adult friend in your stateroom who is not in your household, it looks like you could each book separate
placeholders, but I would confirm this to be true once onboard the ship.
Speaking of sailing with another adult, as a new empty-nester, I’ve recently been turned on to the delights of cruising without kids. While of course there is something for everyone of any age onboard, and ample opportunities to take advantage of the adults-only spaces while your kids are enjoying their age-appropriate kids’ clubs, there is something to be said for a girls’ trip. I recently treated my mom to a mother-daughter cruise and when we weren’t at the adult pool, we were sipping a warm beverage in the Cove Café or visiting
Senses Spa for a massage.
Of course, with or without kids, we still saw every show offered in the Walt Disney Theatre and did our fair share of
Character Greetings. This is where the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app comes in handy for planning out your daily activities with ease.
I hope you enjoy your next cruise (and thanks to your placeholder, the next one after that!). If you think of any other way I can be of assistance, Elaine Grace, I hope you’ll sail back to me here at
planDisney.
Bon voyage,
Sami
