If someone purchased park hopper tickets and used the military promotion then gifted them, would the purchaser still need to be present at entry?

    Hi Roselyn!

Welcome to planDisney! Thank you so much for stopping by with this great Disneyland Resort planning question.

I'm a Military Spouse myself, Roselyn, and I'm very familiar with the ins and outs of the fantastic Military Disneyland Theme Park Admission Tickets. The answer is 'it depends on the type of tickets you were given.' If you received 3 or 4-day Disney Military Promotional Park Hopper Tickets, then yes, the Military member who purchased these tickets, or their qualifying spouse, must be present with you on day 1 of use to activate the tickets. They don't have to stay the whole day, but they must enter the parks with your group.

If, however, you were given 1-day, 2-day, 3-day, 4-day or 5-day tickets, either valid for a single park per day or park hoppers, that are NOT a part of the promotion above, they are just a regular theme park admission ticket that happens to be sold at a slight discount at the base ticket office, then no, the Military purchaser does not have to be with you at all. I've purchased these slightly discounted tickets many times for my family and even some of my best panel pals Kristin C. and Veronica O. to use with their families on visits to The Happiest Place on Earth when I couldn't join in the fun with zero issues.

The ticket printouts should say which kind of tickets they are. If you're not sure which tickets you have, the price paid should be a clue. Also, the expiration date offers another clue; the multi-day promotional tickets where a Service Member needs to be with you can be used at any point between now and mid-December; the other tickets expire 14 days after first use. You can also upload the tickets to your Disneyland Mobile App where the type should come across. Or you can also call the friendly Cast Members at the Theme Park Ticket Helpline. Their phone number is (714) 781-4636.

Don't forget that you'll also need to upload these tickets to your My Disneyland Account so you can make Park Pass Reservations for your desired Disneyland dates!

I hope that this helped to plan some upcoming Disney fun, Roselyn! Be sure to check out the official planDisney Instagram account for all kinds of tips and tricks. And if you have any more Disneyland Resort planning questions, We're All Ears!
