Hey there, Janice!
Welcome to planDisney! I'm so sorry to hear that you never got a chance to use that Southern California Disneyland Resort Annual Pass. I myself was a Legacy Annual Passholder for many years and really loved that program. I was cautiously optimistic when they announced that the
Magic Key Program was replacing it and I'm happy to say that I've been extremely happy with my Magic Key!
In 2021, President of Disneyland Resort
Ken Potrock issued a statement that they were sunsetting their nearly 40 year old Annual Pass Program and that refunds would be issued to all current Passholders. If your Pass was from back then, you likely received a refund that was issued to the card that you used to purchase your Annual Pass.
If, however, your purchase was more recent and you actually had an Imagine Magic Key (these were the Keys specific for Southern California residents), then you are able to apply the cost of an unactivated, expired Pass towards the purchase of a new Pass (subject to availability) so long as the new Pass is equal to or greater than the amount paid for the original Pass (per the
Magic Key Terms and Conditions).
I don't have access to your account, Janice, so if you would like to verify, I would recommend calling a Cast Member at either the
Magic Key or Tickets phone line to inquire. I'm sure they'll do their very best to find you an answer!
I also see that you're planning on making your way back to the Disneyland Resort for the
Holiday Season! How exciting is that?! It's one of the most beautiful times to visit the Happiest Place on Earth. Be sure to come home with plenty of pictures of all the decorations, especially the huge Christmas Tree as you enter Disneyland Park!
Fun Fact: The iconic 60 foot tall
Christmas Tree you'll see on Main Street, U.S.A. used to be a live tree until 2007, when Disneyland Park opted for a more sustainable alternative.
Janice, I hope that this response helped you track down what you needed. Please let us know if we can help you any further. We'd love to hear from you again!
Wishing You a Great, Big, Beautiful Tomorrow!
