We have 3 small children and are wondering if the Disney time share is really a good idea. Can someone who has this please give me some insight? If you use the Disney time share is the Disney dinning available? And can you bring other family members.

Hi, Michelle!  We are members of the Disney Vacation Club, the Disney version of a timeshare, and we absolutely love it.  We started with a 250 point contract at Saratoga Springs, and have added two other contracts since then at Animal Kingdom Villas and Bay Lake Towers.

We had toyed with the idea of timeshare for years, but we don't always have a full week to vacation, and we can't always plan too far in advance.  We really appreciate the flexibility of the DVC, knowing that if we can only go visit for a long weekend, that's an option; or if we want to go for longer than a week, that's an option also.

The best part to us is the various accommodations!  We love to bring the grandparents with us, or the aunts and uncles.  We took one trip with our daughters, and thanks to the various sized villas, we were able to invite a grandmom, aunt and uncle to go with us!  Our dream vacation is our girls and all the grandparents!

The Disney Dining Plan is available to DVC members!

For our family, this is a way to budget ahead for vacations, know how much from year to year it's going to cost us, and we are staying in WAY nicer accommodations than we were when we were trying to find room discounts on or off property.  It has worked out very well for my gang!
