Hi I have small children (4,2 and 9mth) and debating between Raglan Road and Cap'n Jack's for a late dinner 7/8ish. What would be better?

Hi, Jennifer!  Of the two restaurants, my personal choice for food and atmosphere would be Raglan Road.  This is a very authentic feeling Irish pub, with delicious food and wonderful music.  But it's that music thing that might be a deal breaker for your family.

If you think the kids might not last through dinner, you might find it less lively at Cap'n Jack's.  My kids could sleep through a marching band detouring through their bedrooms, so it never worried me to take them later in the evening to Raglan Road.  I knew if they got tired, they'd simply lean over onto my lap and fall asleep.  But if your children are going to be disturbed by the noise of the entertainment, you might want to go where the atmosphere is more subdued, which is Cap'n Jack's.

On the other hand, if your kids, like mine, tend to get a little bit loud at meal time - especially if they are excited about the day they've just had! - you might like the fact that there is some music playing and some pub atmosphere!

Either restaurant is wonderful for different reasons.  We really enjoy Raglan Road, and I just always feel comfortable there with my kids.

    Have a great vacation!
