Can the 5th sleeper beds at the beach club or Grand Floridian fit an adult?

    Hi Natalie,

Welcome! Welcome! Welcome to planDisney. I am so happy to have you here with us. Thanks for trusting me with a piece of your Disney planning.

You have asked about a couple of our favorite Disney Resort hotels. So, before I say anything else, I want to encourage you that these are both great options. I think the convenience of that stroll or beautiful boat ride from Disney's Beach Club Resort to both EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios makes it very hard to beat. However, Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa comes in strong with the convenience of the Disney Monorail, and its Magic Kingdom Park views over the glistening Seven Seas Lagoon. This would be a tough choice.

    Let's dive in!

The 5th Sleeper at both of these Resort hotels is actually a two-cushion sofa that converts into a daybed. I am 5'4 and find it quite cozy (and surprisingly plush!), but I think an adult much taller than me would feel a little cramped. If you sleep in the shape of Peach, the starfish from Finding Nemo, then this would not be a great option. However, for a side sleeper with bent knees? It could be perfect.

If you need a little more space for your crew, consider a 1- or 2-bedroom Villa at Disney's Beach Club Villas or The Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. These are the Disney Vacation Club Resorts sharing amenities with the Resort hotel. (I know that might sound a little confusing! Just think: larger rooms designed with all of the comforts of home.) Not only will you find more space to really streeeeetcchhh out overnight, but you will also enjoy the convenience of a fully equipped kitchen, full-sized washer and dryer, and pretty great balcony or patio space.

We find that by having the option to enjoy a casual breakfast in our larger Villa or even a leisurely dinner in the full kitchen, we are able to have periods of rest in the middle of a very exciting theme park day. This means that we can head back out at night ready to run from a very grumpy Yeti or test out those interesting elevators at the Hollywood Tower Hotel without falling asleep in the queue! Bonus!

I hope that answers your question, Natalie. If you think of any others, please come back and join us. We love to help!

    Adventure is out there,
