Hi Matthew!
Welcome to planDisney! I consider myself a transportation expert when it comes to Walt Disney World! My family relies on me to be the map when navigating the parks and resorts. With the addition of location services on the
My Disney Experience App, it has become much easier for everyone to find the best option to get around Walt Disney World!
Disney Skyliner added a new dimension to Disney transportation. Having the option to take a ride in the sky over Walt Disney World property can be an attraction in and of itself. Timed just right, guests can enjoy a beautiful sunset while taking a trip to
EPCOT or
Disney's Hollywood Studios. Matthew, you can take Disney Skyliner to EPCOT, however, in order for you to take the monorail, you would need to go through EPCOT ticket turnstiles. The monorail is located at the front of EPCOT, whereas the Disney Skyliner stop is at the International Gateway entrance. This requires utilizing a theme park ticket to enter EPCOT in order to access the monorail. A better option for you is to take a bus from Disney's Hollywood Studios directly to
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. Buses are available throughout the day until one hour after park closing to service guests. This will enable you to have a direct trip to the Polynesian Resort, and you do not need to utilize a theme park ticket.
Transportation Tip: On the My Disney Experience App, you can find the best transportation option by clicking the location icon at the bottom. Select 'Resort Hotels' from the drop-down menu at the top, and then you can click on 'Get Directions.' This will give you step-by-step travel directions to your destination.
Hope this helps you plan your magical vacation!
