Hi Teresa!
Welcome to planDisney.
The
Disney Skyliner is such a fun addition to the complimentary Disney Transportation system taking guests all around Walt Disney World Resort. As you know,
Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort has direct access to the Skyliner (along with 3 other resort hotels - Disney's Riviera Resort, Disney's Pop Century Resort and Disney's Art of Animation Resort) which gives you an additional choice of
transport when travelling around the Resort.
Your question is a good one, and my first answer is that yes, you will need a park admission ticket to walk through
EPCOT from the Skyliner station at the International Gateway entrance to take a monorail at the main entrance. If you have a ticket for Magic Kingdom Park for that day, you will need a park hopper ticket to enter EPCOT, for whatever reason, even simply to walk from Skyliner to Monorail.
However, let me talk through some options. The quickest route from your hotel to Magic Kingdom Park would be to take a direct bus. They run every 20 minutes or so, from around 45 minutes before park opening, until an hour after park closure. Alternatively, if speed is not important, you could board the Skyliner from Disney's Caribbean Resort for Disney's Hollywood Studios, take a bus to EPCOT, and then catch a monorail to Magic Kingdom Park (both buses and monorail are to be found at the EPCOT's main entrance, so no park hopper tickets will be needed).
If you decide to use the bus to Magic Kingdom Park that day, you can still experience the Skyliner and the monorail just for fun! You can do this at any time without heading to a theme park. Just hop on the Skyliner and let it swoop you up above Walt Disney World, where you could maybe visit one of the other Skyliner resort hotels, or just enjoy the magnificent view! When you leave Magic Kingdom Park you could take the monorail on a little trip circling Seven Seas Lagoon where you'll have great views of Disney's Contemporary Resort (from inside and out!!!), Disney's Polynesian Village Resort and Disney's Grand Floridian Resort before arriving back at Magic Kingdom Park where you'll have a short walk to the bus stops for your ride back to your hotel.
Please come back and visit us if you have any further questions, or you can
send me a direct question if you wish. We will be happy to help you plan your magical vacation at Walt Disney World!
Sue
