I am skeptical about buying from "outside" agents, but have heard good things about mousesavers.com, Undercover Tourist, and Small World Vacations. Have you ever used any of these sources to make Walt Disney World purchases, and are they reliable?

I understand your skepticism, but in this case the companies you mention are very reputable.  Mousesavers.com provides great information about how to save money at WDW.  It is run by Mary Waring who has a great reputation in the WDW fan community.

Mary personally recommends Small World Vacations (an authorized Disney Vacation Planner), so I think that is an excellent and credible endorsement. I have also personally heard good things about them.

I personally have used undercovertourist.com to buy WDW tickets and have never had a problem.  It doesn't usually save you much money, but it made enough of a difference for us to try it out.  We had no problems at all.

For our last few trips we have used a combination of booking trips directly with WDW, and using the Magic For Less travel agency.  The thing that I like about using an experienced WDW travel agency (like Small World or Magic for Less) is that they do a lot of the homework for you.  A good agent will let you know immediately if better prices or packages are offered, and will work with you to try to re-book you on these improved terms.
