Hey There, Hi There, Ho There, John!
You are as welcome as can be here at planDisney! How exciting that your upcoming stay at
Disney's BoardWalk Villas is just around the riverbend. John, as a Disney Vacation Club Member for the last 22 years, our family has loved the home-away-from-home stays at many of the DVC Resorts. As a family of five, we do not fit comfortably in traditional hotel rooms, so having the space of a Deluxe Studio - and the added benefit of a kitchenette - sure makes us feel like we are home sweet home.
John, my family has stayed in one of the BoardWalk Deluxe Studios on many occasions. For the rooms that clearly state they can accommodate five Guests, you will find a queen bed, a queen sleeper sofa, and a single pull-down bed. I don't have the exact dimensions for this bed, but from personal experience, I would say the pull-down bed is best for a smaller person - like a teen or smaller adult. Anecdotally, it is about two inches shorter and a bit narrower than a traditional twin bed. However, my 5'6" teen daughter can sleep on it and my older son slept on it when he was about 5'9". While he could sleep on it, my daughter was more comfortable sleeping on this bed. I would say it is a true single bed.
If you would like to have a tour of the room before you arrive, John, there is a
virtual tour on the DVC website. I found it helpful to get a sense of the room's amenities and layout prior to arrival. You can also see the sizing of the pull-down bed.
Now, here's a quick tip for you, John. Normally, bedding for the pull-down bed and sleeper sofa is located in the closet of your Deluxe Studio, if it is not already on the beds. However, if you can't locate it - or if you need additional blankets, pillows, towels, or even kitchen supplies - be sure to check out the
"Hey Disney" device in your room. You'll recognize it as the touch screen computer with Mickey ears. This fun little companion is like your own personal magic mirror where you can ask it for things like weather, theme park hours, Disney trivia questions, a morning alarm, and more! You can use it to request any additional items you need for your room. It's magic at your fingertips - literally!
I hope this helps you, John. If you have any further Disney vacation planning questions, soar back here to see me and I'll be so happy to help you! Because, after all, you've got a friend in me.
Magically Yours,
Keri
