Hi Nina!
Thank you for bringing your question to
planDisney!
As you mentioned, the
Walt Disney World Guidelines specify the size of bags allowed in the park, but not bag size limitations for attractions. The guidelines state:
Suitcases, bags, coolers or backpacks, with or without wheels, larger than 24" long x 15" wide x 18" high (61 cm x 38 cm x 46 cm) are not allowed in any theme park or water park.
Walt Disney World allows guests to bring a bag with them to every attraction in the theme parks. While the size isn't specified in the guidelines, the general guidance is to ensure that the bag is no bigger than a moderate-sized backpack. I have brought a purse, small backpack, and even a diaper bag onto an attraction before. Most attractions will allow you to set the bag at your feet while you ride. For example, "it's a small world,"
The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, and
Peter Pan's Flight all allow ample space.
For attractions that include water, such as
Pirates of the Caribbean, you will want to keep in mind that the bottom of the boat will be wet. If you don't want your bag to get wet, you can consider renting a locker at the front of the park. All four of the theme parks have lockers for rent. Some attractions also are a bit smaller and have less space for a bag, such as
Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. Some attractions, especially coasters, have a small net pocket on the back of the seat in front of you for storing your bag. Rock-n-Roller Coaster is one example of an attraction that uses this method. With this attraction, you would not be able to fit a large backpack in the net, but you could fit a small purse.
You also have the option to leave your bag on the side of the attraction, in a specified location, if your bag is too large to fit on the attraction with you. Soarin' has small nets under the seats that don't hold large bags, so I always leave my backpack in the center aisle while I ride this attraction.
Magically,
Stacy
